Error codeH / HI
ApplianceRefrigerator
Meaning of the alarm
When HI (or H) blinks, the temperature in the refrigerator or freezer has been too high for over an hour. Electrolux says a door left open too long is the common cause.
Work through these checks
Close every door fully and confirm the seals are sitting properly.
A separate door alarm sounds after a door has been open more than 5 minutes; shutting the door should stop it.
For a reset, the guide says that on some models you unplug the refrigerator for 30 seconds and plug it in again.
If the plug cannot be reached, switch the breaker off and on. Everything else on that circuit resets as well.
When the alarm stays
Installed within the last 30 days: contact the installer. Installed earlier: contact Electrolux to schedule service.

An outage that can lead to this alarm is shown as PF. Sabbath mode appears as Sb, and DI SP concerns the ice dispenser.
Model compatibility: Electrolux reuses codes across series and model years, so H / HI may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
H or HI warns that the refrigerator or freezer has been too warm for more than an hour, most often because a door stayed open.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
