Electrolux Dryer AD Error Code
AD on an Electrolux dryer shows the Auto Dry setting. It is a readout, not a fault.

Clothes come out damp because the cycle decided they were dry. On the ELFE7637AT the moisture sensing is where we look.
The ELFE7637AT is an electric dryer from the Electrolux 600 Series, and the series carries the LuxCare Dry name. It is a current model. Like other dryers in its class it reads moisture in the load and ends an Auto Dry cycle when the reading says the clothes are finished.
Sensing bars inside the drum pick up a thin film of fabric softener or dryer sheet residue and start reading dry too soon. The result is a cycle that ends with towels still cool and heavy. A good first test is to wipe the bars with a damp cloth and a little rubbing alcohol on a cloth, drying it afterward, then retry. If it persists, the fault may be in the sensor reading or the control. Our post Auto Dry ends too soon explains it in detail.
That last item is not a fault code, so seeing AD on the display is not by itself a reason to call.
Manual timed cycles keep working when the humidity sensor is out, as the E4 meaning notes. Using a timed cycle for heavy items like jeans and towels is a reasonable stopgap while a visit is scheduled. Keep the lint screen clean, since a restricted vent mimics the symptom by trapping moisture.
In a condo laundry closet with a stacked washer, water or steam from a neighboring unit can confuse expectations, but the sensing is internal to the dryer. We still check the vent length and the exhaust path before assigning blame, because a weak airflow reading and a bad sensor can give the same outcome.
Send ELFE7637AT and the display code with your request. We diagnose first, give a written estimate, and fit nothing without your approval. See Electrolux dryer repair or the lineup at Electrolux dryers.
It is the name attached to the 600 Series. Beyond that, ask us about any specific function you want to check.
No. The owner guide lists AD as the Auto Dry indicator with no further description.
Per the E4 meaning, the current cycle finishes and manual cycles still work.
Sometimes. If not, the diagnosis moves to the sensor reading and the control.
