When an electric dryer reports a line or voltage problem, the wall feeding it deserves as much attention as the machine.
The ELVE7700AB is an electric dryer paired in the Electrolux lineup with a top-load washer. It is a current model, with an efficiency-program availability date of October 2026. Being electric, it relies on a dedicated high-power circuit that in older buildings is sometimes shared, extended or rewired.
This dryer platform has several codes that describe the incoming supply: Electrolux dryer EA2 for line voltage too high, Electrolux dryer EA3 for line voltage too low, Electrolux dryer EA4 for improper home wiring (L1-N-L2) and Electrolux dryer EA5 for main voltage sensing failure. In a rental with an older panel, a loose lug or a tired receptacle can create exactly these readings.
A power-supply message usually appears right at start, whereas a heater fault appears later in the cycle. If the display goes dark with the drum stopped, the receptacle and the cord become the topic. If the dryer runs but heats weakly on one leg, the voltage at the plug matters.
Do not open the terminal block behind the dryer or swap a plug for a different style yourself. Do not run an extension cord. The supply is high-power, and a poor connection can overheat. If you notice a warm plug, a burn smell or scorch marks, turn off the breaker and stay clear.
A technician reads the ELVE7700AB label, checks incoming voltage at the receptacle and then the dryer. We give a written estimate after diagnosis and do nothing without approval. If the wall supply is at fault, we tell you so you can bring in an electrician. More on Electrolux dryer repair and the lineup at Electrolux dryers.
Older flats may have a dryer outlet that was installed for an earlier appliance, with a different plug style or aged wiring. If your plug is warm, loose or discolored, tell us before the visit. We will check what we can on the dryer side and say plainly if the wall circuit needs an electrician.
Not necessarily. The wording points to the supply wiring as seen by the dryer, so the circuit needs checking.
It can. Dryers need their own dedicated circuit.
No. This model is electric.
Leave it off and request a visit. Repeated resetting is not advised.
