About this model

Model overview

EDSR4932 is a family of 24-inch Electrolux dishwashers. The letters after the number change with finish and version, so a plate read at the visit settles which one you have.

Noise, hum and wash motor messages

The message i50 (also i51, i52 and i5F) means a wash motor or circulation system problem. A related message, Er03, says the wash pump is not running. Owners often describe a hum without water movement, a grinding sound, or dishes that come out unwashed on one rack. A technician looks for debris in the pump area, checks the circulation path, then the motor and its supply from the control.

Power loss in the middle of a cycle

If the display shows PF, the unit lost power during a cycle. That could be a tripped breaker, a loose supply, or an outlet shared with a disposal. Reset once, then watch whether it happens again.

Checks that are safe

  1. Listen for the sound of water spraying in the first minutes.
  2. Rinse the filter and make sure no glass or pits are stuck near it.
  3. Check the breaker, then restart.
  4. Note which messages you see and when.

Do not open the lower panel

The area behind the toe-kick holds the pump, the heating wiring and the leak sensor. Leave it to a technician.

Label and siblings

The plate is usually on the door frame or tub edge. The compact cousin is EDSR1832, and the larger-number sibling at the same width is EDSP4944CS.

When noise comes and goes

An intermittent hum is harder to trace than a constant one. Try to note whether it happens at the start of a wash, during rinse, or at drain. Record a short phone clip of the sound if you can; it lets a technician narrow the pump, the motor or a loose part before the visit. Avoid running further cycles if the sound turns into grinding.

Power and shared outlets

In some kitchens the dishwasher plug shares a circuit with the disposal, or a switch beside the sink controls it. Check that the wall switch is on and that no GFCI nearby has tripped. A power drop mid-cycle is far easier to trace when we know which outlet and breaker feed the unit.
