Loading habits that help

A dishwasher drains better when plates are scraped, not rinsed clean, and when small items cannot fall through the lower rack into the sump. Pods and powders belong in the dispenser, not the tub floor. If standing water returns within a few cycles after you clean the filter, the blockage is probably further along the drain path, and a technician can trace it without guesswork.
