Four freestanding ranges, two fuel types, one oven and cooktop under the same control. Here is how to sort out yours.
A range is the one appliance in a kitchen that cooks on top and bakes below, so a single fault can look like either problem. When someone calls about a range, the first thing we want to know is which part of it is misbehaving: a burner or zone on top, the oven cavity, the display, or the door lock. That determines where the diagnosis starts.
Electrolux ranges in our lineup come in two types and two widths. Induction models heat the pan itself with a magnetic field and run on electricity only; dual-fuel models pair a gas cooktop with an electric oven.
In the model number, ECFI points to induction and ECFD to dual fuel. The 36-inch versions suit a remodeled kitchen with a wider cooking wall, while the 30-inch size fits the standard slot in a typical flat or row house.
The model label is usually on the oven frame, behind the oven door or along the edge of the drawer opening at the bottom. Open the door fully and look around the frame; a flashlight helps. If you cannot find it, tell us the width, the fuel type and the finish and we will help you narrow it down.
On a dual-fuel range a burner that clicks but will not stay lit can point to the igniter, the burner cap seating or a debris-clogged port; on induction it often involves the pan or a zone sensor. We describe the checks in our article on one burner that works intermittently.
Uneven baking, burnt edges or food that takes longer than the recipe suggests are usually about temperature sensing, the heating elements or the door seal. Read oven temperature swings while baking for a symptom-by-symptom approach.
A fan that keeps running after the oven is off is normal for a short while. If it runs for a long time, see the oven cooling fan that keeps running.
A dash on the display means the controls are locked. A cooktop lock-out or a door lock message can look like a failure when it is a setting or a latch that has not completed its movement.
Browse the full error code library for others. A code describes what the control noticed, so it tells the technician where to look first rather than which part to buy.
If you smell gas, leave the home, avoid light switches and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. For burning smell or sparks, switch off the breaker. Never remove back panels or try to repair gas fittings yourself.
If the problem remains, book through Electrolux range repair. For built-in setups see the related guides on cooktops and wall ovens. A visit begins with diagnosis, comes with a written estimate and proceeds only when you approve it.
Induction uses electricity to heat compatible cookware directly, while dual fuel has a gas cooktop and an electric oven. The model prefix tells you which one you own: ECFI for induction, ECFD for dual fuel.
Turn it off. Repeated attempts only release more gas. Clean the cap and ports, and if it still fails, book a diagnosis.
Not on its own. Cooling after use is normal, but a fan that never settles deserves a closer look.
That marks locked controls. Check the lock setting before assuming something is broken.
The model number, whether it is induction or dual fuel, the exact code and the symptom in one sentence.
