From 300 Series to 700 Series, here is how to identify your washer and what usually causes the trouble.
Washers in San Francisco often live in tight places: a hall closet, a basement garage, a stacked setup in a flat. That makes the installation as relevant as the machine when something goes wrong, especially with vibration, drainage and door locks.
The front-load models step up by series number. The ELFW7337AW is the 300 Series, the ELFW7437AW the 400 Series, and the ELFW7537AT and ELFW7537AW the 500 Series. The ELFW7637AT is the 600 Series with SmartBoost, and the ELFW7738AA the 700 Series, which also appears with an AW ending. The ELFW4333AW sits below them without a series name on our list. Two entries are families rather than single models: the ELFW7626 and the ELFW4222. Their closing letters vary by finish and version, so read the last letters on your own label instead of assuming.
For a top-loader, the ELVW7405AW is the one on our list. Its sibling dryers are covered in the dryer guide, and tower units that stack both machines are on the laundry tower guide.
On a front-load washer the label is usually inside the door opening, on the frame or the door itself. Top-loaders usually carry it under the lid or on the rear panel edge. Read it in full; the letters after the digits identify the finish and version.
Washer codes include E11 (fill time too long), E21 (water not pumping out fast enough), E41 and E42 for door switch and lock faults, and EF5 for an unbalanced load. Suds and soap codes such as SU dS and EF2 are about detergent, and HO SE is about the hoses. Always note the exact display text; the code index has the rest.
A washer on a wood floor in an upper flat behaves differently from one on a basement slab. Flexible floors amplify vibration, so leveling and the shipping hardware matter more. A standpipe drain that sits too low or fits tightly around the hose can siphon water or back up. Washers in closets need clear space for the door to open fully, and the water valves behind them are often forgotten until a hose weeps. If yours is part of a stacked setup, see laundry tower vibration in a tight closet for the closet side of the story.
Two washers with the same series number can carry different control boards, motor drives or door-lock parts, and codes such as E93 or E98 exist precisely because a mismatch is possible. Giving us the complete string, with the closing letters, lets us choose the right reference before the visit rather than during it.
Do not force a locked door, pull out the drain filter on a hot cycle or remove the back panel.
Our Electrolux washer repair page explains the visit. We diagnose first, provide a written estimate and repair only after your approval. Reach us through contact.
Usually the third letter helps: ELFW is front-load, ELVW is top-load. Check the label to confirm.
Heavy single items such as a bedspread bunch up and throw the drum off balance. The sensor then slows or repeats the spin.
Only if the products are made for stacking with the correct kit. Laundry towers come as a single stacked unit.
Some codes apply only to select models. Our code pages note when a meaning is limited to certain series.
Photograph it in good light or send the visible part and the series name; we will help narrow it down.
